So, I just popped out to get a few things from my local grocery store. I was really hoping to get some organic, locally grown produce. I am hitting up the Farmer’s Market this weekend, but needed some stuff to hold me over.
Do you know where I found the organic food? In a sad little bin off to the side. Do you know what I found? Two types of apples, and some old pears. This is when I stopped and asked myself a few questions. When did it become harder to find things that are in their natural state, and not altered by man than those that are? Why is it that “organic” is marked instead of “chemically enhanced” being marked? Why is it something rare that people buy what is found in nature yet completely common to digest pesticides and who-knows-what-else? How far have we come from what people are meant to eat that this is the situation at a major grocery store?

mph.
It makes me want to eat natural and clean. It’s SO information, and really eye-opening. I am ordering the DVD and the recipe book. Guys, you need to watch it!
Being healthy is so fundamentally simple it’s ridiculous we’ve gotten this far off track.
JUST EAT FOOD.
NOT FOOD-LIKE PRODUCTS.
If your great-great-great grandma wouldn’t recognize it, don’t even put it in your shopping cart.
The food industry is exactly that - an industry, just like the clothing industry, publishing industry, and electronics industry. They need to sell and will put anything on a label to make their product appeal to you. Keep this in mind when you are grocery shopping and think twice about everything!

I am looking to make a list of things to look for/avoid when I go grocery shopping, and I need your help! You know, what types of fats are “good fats” and what ones to avoid, tricks to reading labels and “nutritional lingo”. Kind of like a grocery shopping cheat-sheet.
I know some of you are really wise when it comes to these things, and I would love your help!
If you guys want me to post what I come up with so you can use it too, I would be more than happy!
Thanks guys!
